Three-week turnaround to restore critical pharmaceutical facility to automatic operation

The air handling unit in a sampling cabin was only operating manually due to the obsolescence of its automation system.

For our client, this posed a direct risk of contamination of the air outside the booth and regulatory noncompliance with the permanent conditions of the installation.

B2C Engineering’s objective?

To quickly regain control of the installation, eliminate critical obsolescence, and ensure data traceability in accordance with 21 CFR requirements.

In less than a month, our team:

  • Checked the condition of the sensors and actuators
  • Modified the existing cabinet and added a new one with an integrated rack
  • Reprogrammed the PLC via Siemens SIMATIC STEP7 (TIA Portal)
  • Integrated our standard under AVEVA System Platform 2023 R2
  • Digitized the signaling equipment
  • Performed SAT tests and IQ/OQ qualification

Results: Thanks to rigorous planning, the project was completed on schedule.

The production line is now reliably controlled, with enhanced traceability and easier maintenance.

Congratulations to our team and thank you to the customer teams for their involvement and trust.
