B2C Engineering: 12 years of organisational development, technical expertise and industrial growth

12 years of B2C Engineering: building a lasting industry benchmark

For the past 12 years, B2C Engineering has been expanding its activities in the integration of industrial solutions, guided by a consistent focus on organisational structure, technical quality and continuous improvement.

There is no magic formula behind this growth.
Instead, there is a complementary management structure led by three directors, all industrial engineers with hands-on experience: Jean-Christophe BULON for the technical side, Benjamin BEAURANG for operations and Charles COSTA for human resources.

To mark this anniversary, Jean-Christophe and Benjamin look back at the key decisions that have shaped the company’s development.

A technical approach designed to ensure excellence

For JeanChristophe, the CEO in charge of technical management, the quality of a project depends above all on methodological rigour and technical expertise right from the earliest stages.

A significant recent development concerns the technical organisation of projects and has been one of the company’s most fundamental decisions.

« The establishment of the role of technical lead, filled by experts in our service areas.

This expertise is applied from the initial proposal right through to the completion of the project, enabling us to define the requirements and provide technical input from the very start of the client needs assessment. This allows us to guarantee excellent technical quality. »

This development now makes it possible to enhance the overall quality of projects right from the earliest stages.
JeanChristophe also highlights the key factors that ensure a project’s quality:

Understanding the scope, analysing requirements, and demonstrating technical initiative.

And regarding the operational phases:

“Project analysis and the drafting of documentation prior to development. Internal testing and client FATs to validate that the developments meet the expected functionalities.”

He points out that, at B2C Engineering, the analysis phase is led by technical leaders or senior engineers, and that testing and FATs are guided by comprehensive documentation to cover the entire scope.

To maintain this strength over time, technology watch and continuous training remain two major priorities.

We must keep a close eye on technological developments in our fields […] The other focus is on maintaining and developing our engineersskills.”

An operational structure designed to drive performance

For Benjamin, the CEO in charge of operations and finance, one of the key drivers of transformation has been the gradual rollout of an ERP system.

This decision has enabled the company to be structured on a large scale, strengthening collaboration and operational control.

« The applications implemented over the past three yearsranging from project management and timesheets to accounting and vehicle fleet managementhave provided an excellent foundation for us to organise ourselves at every level.

This ERP system has also become a robust collaboration tool for all project team members. »

This transformation has helped to strengthen:

  • The smooth running of processes
  • Internal collaboration
  • Operational management
  • Overall project performance

And when it comes to making quick decisions, Benjamin favours a methodical approach.

First, I look at the purpose of the decision. Then, I weigh up the benefits and risks of each option. I also look for simplicity in the options. And I do all this whilst detaching myself emotionally (but not ethically) from the context, as this factor can cloud objectivity in the process.”

At the same time, he also reflects on the overall structure of B2C Engineering:

The structure, the organisation, but also, more specifically, the performance and success of the projects we deliver to manufacturers, are factors that have strengthened the company’s solidity. Now, the vast majority of processes are documented and known to those involved in them. This promotes smooth collaboration.”

This approach helps to ensure structured and sustainable growth.

B2C Engineering’s strength: its teams

Beyond tools, processes and strategic decisions, the three executives share a firm conviction: B2C’s success depends above all on its employees. Their pride is evident in various aspects of the company.

For Jean-Christophe:

The reputation of our B2C Engineering agencies in their local areas, and the quality of our services, built on a clear vision without external investment.

For Benjamin :

The strength and diversity of the B2C team. A wide range of personalities and talents form part of the organisation, and as these good people attract other good people, this now fuels a virtuous circle for the company. It is this group of people that shapes the face of the company.

This vision highlights the importance of a balance between technical expertise and human capital.

12 years of complementary governance

Having led the company together for 12 years is also one of B2C Engineering’s key distinguishing features.

JeanChristophe highlights the power of their complementary strengths:

It is a real strength that our complementary profiles allow us to share a common vision and put it into practice quickly through our division of responsibilities.”

Benjamin, for his part, emphasises the richness of the shared challenge:

Leading together is no simple matter, and like a marriage, it’s for better or for worse. We’ve been through all sorts of events and emotions. And at the same time, leading together is so rich in creativity and experience.”

This threeway leadership has enabled the company to grow with consistency, stability and adaptability.

A step forward, but above all a momentum

Celebrating 12 years is not just about looking back; it is also about reaffirming a forwardlooking approach.

Today, B2C Engineering continues to grow with a clear vision:

  • To strengthen its international presence
  • To develop its sectorspecific expertise
  • To support major industrial transformations
  • To maintain a strong corporate culture

This anniversary illustrates the gradual development of an industrial player capable of combining growth, technical expertise and a commitment to people.

In a constantly changing industrial environment, this combination remains one of the most solid foundations for building sustainable growth.
